Mitigating congestion by optimal rescheduling of generators applying hybrid PSO–GWO in deregulated environment

Abstract Deregulation in power system and increased demand has introduced congestion system. With the depletion of fossil fuels, sector turned towards incorporation Renewable Energy Systems through private generators. This paper focuses on non-cost-free method to mitigate by rescheduling generators for their active output. The is done such a way that cost minimum. presents new merge two tested algorithms Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) Grey Wolf (GWO) generate hybrid algorithm, HPSOGWO. output rescheduled with minimum rescheduling. priority participating set generator sensitivity factor its optimized proposed applied algorithm reduced 16% less as GWO. HPSOGWO moderated 25% compared effectiveness validated standard IEEE 30 bus results confirms outperformance over GWO PSO reducing reduction losses congestion.
